Satellite connection!

 Every process is multi-tiered, even door painting. This is our front door ... it is painted with latex on the inside surfaces and oil based stuff on the outside. The color I am painting here is a deep mustard shade for the inside. The insert image is the rim-lock we took with us from our Lahaska front door intending to use here, but turns out it is for the wrong side of the door and so we can't use it ... if anyone out there has any leads for a rim-lock facing the other way, we are all ears.

 Chris' new nickname is "Dusty." The spackling, sanding and painting is still going on ... insuring that we have a constant fine cloud of dust settling on all surfaces absolutely everywhere. The kitchen tiles have been in place for a while now, but the sealing had not been done. I decided it was time. In the first image you can see the difference between sealed and not sealed, and the second image is an action shot.

 Even the best laid plans sometimes don't quite measure up to what is needed. That was the case in the master bedroom where a required electric outlet had been overlooked. There was no way to get the cables through behind the walls because (1) there was a beam in the way and (2) the new location was a solid SIP panel wall. Hence, Chris had to be clever and get out his chisel and chop away at both beam and wall ... this, of course, necessitated additional spackling etc.

 The evenings are quiet. We have no furniture as yet so the digs are spartan. We do have our wonderful Tulikivi fireplace and we usually fire it up and sit and read by it's glow. I liked the way Chris was framed by the staircase banister in the last image.

 We are now connected to the internet via satellite! No worries, our email addresses have not changed. The disc is pointing at a brand new satellite that gives us access speeds as fast as our previous experience with cable service. This is good.

 Spiral staircase #2 is evolving over time ... meaning that it takes weeks of back and forth processes to get it done (just like the first one did). Here the handrail is maneuvered upstairs and into the house ... it is a pretty ungainly shape as you can see. That handrails gets fitted and sanded and refitted and sealed and refitted a million times and it isn't quite done yet.
