Backbreaking grunt work ...

Chris thought I should include another picture of his lovely handiwork installing the big black tar impregnated sheets that protect the basement water membrane from rock penetrations and such dastardly threats. So here's another view with the added bonus of a dozing helper on the sidelines.

The current work has been has been backbreaking and grueling (for Chris ... not me). As you can see, it has been pure grunt work ... filling the basement floor, leveling and topping with stone. Several "sonotubes" are in place that will support an eventual deck. We are ready for laying in insulation and heating pipes, doing basement level plumbing, and then another pour of cement for a lovely finished smooth floor.
