Chris and Evan busied themselves making the sub-sub-base layer of the upstairs floor (meaning there will be two layers of this sheet material and then the actual final floor). Meanwhile ... the real drama was shaping up on the first floor ...
The Fyre-Pro brothers, Brad and Jeff, came back after a two week absence to finish the Tulikivi stove. They finished off the chimney and painted it a fetching shade of black ... we had to open windows on all sides of the house to keep from being asphyxiated. By the end of the day they were ready to fire up for the first time with a mini fire and to give us a lesson in how to operate the unit. It will take five separate firings of increasing size to cure the stove before we can really fire it up full blast.
Here we are luxuriating by the fire ... there was no heat to speak of as yet, but isn't it pretty?
