Tyvek house wrap is the stuff that goes on before the windows can be muscled into position ... you cut a martini glass shape in the Tyvek to make space for the windows (with about a zillion other steps) and then hope the heavy frames fit in those holes. I think we have about 44 windows in the house, give or take ...
Here is a before windows and after windows view of the same corner. Windows are nice because they stop the wind from whipping right through the house and chilling your bones to the marrow.
Another advancement this week was the arrival and placement of a 500 gallon propane tank. Isn't it lovely? My understanding is that we can paint it any color we want, but we can't bury it in the ground.
This was Thanksgiving week. Lars flew off to California to be with his gal Heather and Krispin flew in from Los Angeles to join us as did his girlfriend Nilpa (from San Francisco). Evan also joined us ... and made his killer pumpkin pie with bourbon cream sauce.
Krispin played harmonica to his father's guitar as Nilpa and I got the meal together.
One of the added treats was going to the movies and seeing "Tangled" ... the new Disney movie ... imagine our surprise when it was playing our little Salida theater during its opening week. Krispin worked on the film and his name was among the credits at the end so, of course, we sat through the bitter end to see his name in lights ... well, in print. I was so proud I was busting out of all my seams!
