We have had a whole stretch of less than stellar weather days ... snow, sleet, rain, hail, London fog, cold and raw ... we are weary of lack of any discernible spring. However, today is proving to be a lovely and balmy blue sky day, a terrific tonic for the spirit. On top of that we had news of a new baby cousin arriving yesterday up in Boulder so we are feeling pretty buoyant at the moment.
There have been lots of odds and ends to tie up before the final roof can be installed to the workshop addition. Lars & Chris are up on the roof after having penetrated it with a breather pipe for one of the bathrooms (note the duct tape bracing it for the moment). Later the team tackles the garage sub-fascia installation in the snow.
Lars' eagle eyes noticed that there was a hump on the top surface of the beam of our open porch, so it was felled and the hump deleted. All was back in place before lunch time.
Some of our friends and relatives have been testing our new mailing address and it was with great delight I received a fat package full of family memories from a cousin in Sweden. I was useless for work all afternoon as I submerged down memory lane.Lars and Chris were stowing away Lars' snowmobiles for the season in his trailer when all of a sudden Lars yelled, "Dad, lift your foot!" Chris was stepping on a perfectly formed Indian arrow head. There are lots of arrow heads all around here, Lars has found a bunch as has our friend Dom, but Chris and I haven't found a one yet ... we keep looking.
Lars had some cash burning a hole in his pocket and couldn't resist spending it on a new four-wheeler. He has now gone back to California for a while.
The last order of business before the roof can be put on is the blue fascia boards to match the rest of the house. The blue boards really tie together the whole look of the structures.
