Arrival in Salida, Colorado

I (Rita) led in the Volvo and Chris followed in truck and trailer ... after four days we arrived in Salida, Colorado. We were racing the big semi moving truck, for we had to be at the designated storage facility at "2:30 PM on Sunday" to unload ... all we could do was press on until we got there. We beat that truck by two hours! Our friend Scott from the bike store in town dropped everything to help us cram our massive pile of stuff into a 10 x 30 foot unit. Boy, were we ever thankful! Over the next several days we unloaded what we needed to live in our furnished rental house from the trailer and then the rest went into the storage facility. It's a nice little craftsman style house in a fairly new development on the edge of town ... the street reminds us a little of the 1998 movie "Pleasantville." This will be our base of operations for a year while we build.
