The day after we arrived in town we picked up our building permit at the court house and met with the excavator who was ready to start. We went over blueprints at the site and the next day machinery was in place digging up a storm. I am posing under the "guest room" to show how deep the upper corner of the hole is and also in the area that will be Chris' shop. A very important amenity is the port-a-john which we both tested and deemed adequate. Another important item is electrical service. Power had been pulled up the driveway before we arrived, but the power pole was installed a week or so after we arrived. It's got outlets so you can run power tools and coffe makers and such.
