SIPs and one wall

The next phase after the timbers go up is the application and installation of wallboard and the SIP panels. The wallboard is sandwiched between the timbers and the SIPs. The SIPs are real thick panels consisting of composite board on two sides and foam stuff in the middle which is the actual insulation of the house. Thank goodness the timber crew does all this (with the assistance of our very own Evan who is operating the fork lift here).

Here's what the front of the house looks like before the holes for the windows are cut out from the wallboard. Holes make a big difference. I think the house is visually shrinking with the addition of the walls.

Just one wall so far ... sort of reminds me of an old western movie set where all the buildings only have facades and nothing else. Also a nice tucked in picture of our home at the foot of our mountain, Mt. Shavano ... I hope the snows come soon above the high tree line (not at our level yet, please ...) because the mountains are so beautiful with white tops.
