Inch by inch ...

Inch by inch, things are happening for sure. The four image composite at the top suggests that the building is curved, which it isn't, it's got only straight lines. When the well was dug a year or so ago we commemorated the event by finding two skulls that met their demise on the property -- meet Henry and Henrietta -- and assigned them to stand sentinel over our domain until we could return. They did their job well, and now we are laying Henry and Henrietta to rest encased within the foundation of our house inside the dead airspace that forms the foundation of one of our fireplaces.

Our first actual on site job was to install the electrical boxes and conduits on the basement level so it would all be safely inside the concrete rather that carved out of the blue insulation stuff and being in harms way of any stray nails attaching the wallboard (which is how they all have done it here in the past). This is new technology here in the valley, which meant we had to research and do it ourselves. With trepidation we set to the task and in two days we were done the first round. The sun is fierce and we both had burned back-of-the-necks after day one. We learned from the locals and donned bandanas a la the French Foreign Legion boys in Africa. The necks survived day two in much better shape.
