The general consensus seems to be that we have ourselves a very complex foundation, and therefore little things crop up that maybe didn't go quite right the first time. Chris' eagle eyes and calm demeanor are proving very important, and all discrepancies are handled as they are discovered. He is insisting on a full day of checking and measuring EVERYTHING before the walls are poured ... next week sometime. We have gotten to know the guys working with us on this portion of the job and they are a really nice and likable bunch of individuals. There's Lex going at something with his saw, and Rick sporting a new haircut (which he was very proud of), and Brian up on a ledge. An emergency batch of homemade oatmeal raisin cookies helped raise everyone's spirits one especially trying morning. Chris is working on the next phase of the project ... manufacturing the galvanized metal strip contraptions that will secure the wooden posts of the house to the cement walls of the basement to insure that a little gust of wind doesn't lift us off our moorings and send us aloft. He's set up shop in the fresh air and is turning out a multitude of his gadgets.
